The Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, is the only individual capable of uniting the country, members of the Atiku Abubakar Southwest Assembly, a foremost PDP support group, have claimed.
Members of the support group made this claim during a summit to interrogate the realities of an Atiku/Okowa candidacy from the perspective of the Southwest geo-political zone in Ibadan on Thursday.
They noted that aggrieved members of the party must sheathe their swords, come together and settle their political differences ahead of the 2023 general election.
Speaking at the summit, the Chairman of the group, Senator Felix Ogunwale, noted that the passion and dedication of every member of the party was needed for the party to emerge victorious at the polls.
In the same vein, the Director of Atiku Support Group who represented the Presidential Candidate at the event, Fabiyi Oladimeji, noted that Atiku remains the most prepared candidate to lead the country.
“The Atiku ASSEMBLY has been working in support of Atiku since 2015. This summit is to have an engagement with the people, with supporters and stakeholders.
“In terms of preparedness to lead this country, Atiku is number one. Atiku understands Nigeria, he is passionate about the country and he is coming to reset and fix the country. He has the capacity and experience to do it.
“PDP is not in crisis. I tell people who care to listen that PDP has the capacity to manage its internal issues and what we have currently is a disagreement not a crisis. A disagreement happens within a family all the times,” he added.
