GSM’s LAUTECH Emergency Multi-campus Policy: Between Morbid Hatred And Envy | Adebayo Mutalubi Ojo

Beside the apparent and obvious reasons for the sole ownership of LAUTECH by the Oyo State Government which are commendable, I make bold to say that the main and the sole agenda of the GSM Government and which actually is the motive or malice or even both that propelled the sole aquisition of the University by Oyo State Government is the morbid hatred by the incumbent government of Oyo State to obliterate another unprecedented achievement of Senator Abiola Ajimobi in establishing the First Technical University in Africa at Ibadan.

It is in pursuance of that hidden agenda that GSM government suddenly came up and toyed, overnight, with yet another populist idea of multi-campus system for LAUTECH.

All well-meaning citizens of Oyo State should watch out for the renaming of the First Technical University of Ibadan as the Faculty of Engineering of LAUTECH soonest.

Emperor Peter Adekunle’s evergreen song on my mind- “Oju o ma le t’eni to ba tan’na o. Oju o ma le t’eni too ba tan’na o, Osika t’o ba pa’na loju ma ti… oju o ma le t’eni to ba tan’na…”

T’eni be’gi loju, bo ba pe titi ,igi a kuku ru’we.

Isiaka Akanji Abiola omo Gani Ajimobi, HEK1, the undisputed father of the modern Oyo State had played his own parts very gloriously well and had left his indellible marks in the sands of time when the ovation was loudest.

The Fuji icon and the only Fuji Creator, Dr. Sikiru Ayinde Balogun, MFR,( aka Barrister) , Mr. Fuji himself in one of his numerous evergreen songs sang,

1″ S’eyi ( not Seyi GSM o) too se , Ore mi ojo n lo, aye lee o, S’eyi too see, Ore mi ojo n lo, Eyi too baa see la o royin, S’eyi too see , oro mi ojo n lo”

And in another breadth, the Musical Fuji Legend of the Commonwealth, Agbajelola Dedegbo also cautioned and admonished us as follows that-

” E soro Ayinde ( insert Akanji) mo ni’won, nitori pe Oori o gbodo fo, e soro Akanji mo ni’won , nitori pe oori o gbodo foo o. Owo kin le ni o, Akanji t’eni kan o ti ni ri, Ola kin le ni o, Akanji t’eni kan o ti ni ri, e ti e kuku ti ro wa pin pe a o ni le se n rere ni’le aye etc.”

I am not even in doubt that where SAAA, the HEK1 is presently resting in the bosom of His Creator in aljannah fridaus, there is neither pain nor anguish nor worries over there and there is no materialistic denominator nor envy or jealousy.

In the words of my reverred mentor , role model and my only English teacher whom Allah(swt) used to mould my life, Mr. Akinwale Akeem Adewale- “For those we have lost, let’s take solace in Allah’s all encompasing mercy that they they are free from pains and the topsy-turvy of this world.”

And if we all agree that there is no load as heavier as envy, please let all of us that are still living learn to drop it.

Dr. Sikiru Ayinde Barrister, MFR in his explosive elpee and yet another evergreen ” Oro Ibo” released in 1982 sang thus- “Eyi ti mo wi loni Ayinde, Adeyinka ko ni d’oran lola lola Olorun Oba. Sugbon , bi a ba wi a ku, ba o si so, orun la n lo, alumuntu na bi ko wa.”

When the funeral oration of the dead is being sung, the livings must listen attentively because the heavens and the deads hath no need of the dirge at all.
