According to DAILY POST, Ajadi, a former Chief Lecturer in the institution dragged the institution and its Governing Council before the National Industrial Court, in Ibadan.

Ajadi noted that his appointment was allegedly terminated by the institution on Sept. 15, 2020.

Counsel to the claimant, Mr. Femi Aborisade informed the court that his client’s appointment was terminated by the institution over alleged misconduct without following due process.

Aborisade urged the court to set aside the letter of termination of appointment by the institution dated Sept. 15, 2020 being unlawful, an unfair labour practice and declared his client as still an employee of the institution.

He urged the court to order reinstatement of the claimant to his position as Chief lecturer without loss of earnings, salaries and allowances.

He further urged the court to order the payment of his client’s earned entitlements, unpaid salaries, unpaid academic allowances totalling N3, 614,397 being half salaries from April 2019 to August 2020.

But, the institution’s counsel, Mr Olubayo Akintunde, informed the court that due process was followed in terminating the appointment of the claimant

Akintunde said that the institution has the right to terminate the appointment of the claimant.

He said that the claimant only entitled to salaries and emoluments for period notice not given and not entitled to reinstatement or declaration that he was still an employee of the institution.

Justice John Peters who presided over the case on Wednesday, then adjourned the case till April 14th.
