The internal crisis within the Oyo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, is far from being settled as one of the 5 House of Representatives’ members supporting Governor Abiola Ajimobi, Hon. Saheed Akinade Fijabi has described members of the other faction- Unity Forum, as ‘recalcitrant’.

Insight Oyo recalled that the party has been embroiled in crisis owing to irreconcilable difference‎ which led to the factionalisation of the party along Ajimobi’s SENACO faction and Unity Forum, a coalition of the aggrieved party members.

While 8 of the 14 Reps members from the state are with Unity Forum, Ajimobi has 5 while Hon. Temitope Olatoye Sugar is without any of the factions.

The two factions are eachother’s throats over who is eligible to steer the affairs of the party. It was learnt that members of the governor’s faction did not obtain nomination forms for the May 5, 2018 ward congress in the state.

Though the national working working committee of the party is yet to make its stand public, members of the Unity Forum are had last week, exposed how Fijabi and two other federal lawmakers paid the money for forms, in bulk and on the 7th of May, 2018, two days after the congress.

In an advertorial congratulating Ajimobi on his 7th anniversary as governor, a copy of which was sighted by Insight Oyo, Fijabi wrote: ‎”It is unthinkable, therefore, that a few members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, family in Oyo State, who rose to political limelight through your benevolence now constitute themselves as your detractors.

“As our father figure, the state awaits your guidance and direction in the coming months. I hereby urge you to forgive all recalcitrant members of our party, and sustain the togetherness we all enjoyed in the spirit of democracy,” he added.
