The lawmaker representing Ibadan North local government constituency 11, Hon. Adebayo Babajide has began the distribution of cash to 500 underprivileged constituents.
The donation is in a bid to support the beneficiaries financially as the Christmas and New Year festivals approach.
“We all know, the whole 2020 is with financial and physical challenges, the pandemic has restricted so many business activities and limited our movement to a certain area in a point in time.
“We are all recovering little by little but we can’t rule out celebrating some special days like Xmas and New year, so, in order to boost the moral of our people for the festival, especially the less privileges, I decided to help them with cash to finance the merriments of their family, i empathise with them in their struggle to make ends meet. Hence, the cash gift shows that they are not alone ,” the lawmaker said.
Some of the beneficiaries, who spoke with newsmen, expressed gratitude to the lawmaker.
In his words, one of the beneficiaries, Irabor Michael described the lawmaker as a “humble and kind hearted person” who is “keeping up to his promises.”
