The lawmaker representing Oyo North Senatorial District, Buhari Abdulfatai will deliver the 32nd edition of the World Press Freedom lecture organized by Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), South West Zone, on Wednesday.
The event, according to a press release issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Alhaji Semiu Azeez, will hold at Dapo Aderogba Hall, Press Center, Iyaganku, Ibadan.
The theme of the lecture is “The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Press Freedom and Media”.
“After the lecture, the leadership of the Union in the zone comprising Lagos, Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti States will also confer an International Guillerno Cano Media Award on Senator Buhari in appreciation of his consistency in the defence and promotion of press freedom over the years,” the statement noted.
Recall that OYOINSIGHT.COM recently reported that Buhari, a third term lawmaker, has his eyes fixed on the 2027 gubernatorial election in the state.
