OYOINSIGHT.COM understands that the Ogbomoso-born ranking lawmaker was in the house yesterday to speak strongly in favor of a  bill seeking to establish Federal Medical Centre at Igboho, Oyo State at a public hearing.

The bill was sponsored by Olumide Ojerinde, who represents Irepo/Oorelope/Olorunsogo, one of the 4 federal constituencies in Buhari’s Oyo North.

While speaking at the public hearing,Buhari noted that the establishment of a good healthcare facility in Okeogun is long overdue as the pain and rigor of the people who always travel miles away either to Ibadan or Ilorin for medical attention is highly pathetic and pitiable.

He added further that the Oke Ogun people are one of the most marginalised people in the country as the region does not have a single federal presence and therefore calls on the House of Representatives to pass the bill without delay.

After assuring the gathering that he will work assiduously by interacting with the Senate leadership in order to make the bill enjoy the Red Chamber’s concurrence once passed by the House, he saluted the effort and courage of the sponsor of the bill that pushing an important bill of this nature this far in the Nigerian Parliament despite being a first time lawmaker is actually a laudable and commendable effort.
