Kunle Yusuff, MON, Executive Chairman Oyo State Road Transport Management, Mogaji Akin Fagbemi, Commissioner 1 in Local Government and Service Commission, Hon Oyediji Oyesina and Director-General, Oyo State Gaming Board, Hon Olajide Boladuro, Executive Assistant on Disabilities, Barr. Adekanbi, Chairman Oyo State Water Corporation, Anthony Adepoju, Personal Assistant to His Excellency, Akeem Azeez on Wednesday paid glowing tributes to the Chief of Staff to Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Hon Segun Ogunwuyi on the occasion of his birthday.
They noted Ogunwuyi’s contributions to the Development of Oyo State and lauded him for his support and commitment to the Administration of Governor Seyi Makinde.
Recall that Ogunwuyi who is also the Otunba Mayeloye of Ijeru kingdom in Ogbomoso was a member of the Oyo State House of Assembly between 2011-2015 and was elected as House of Representatives Member from 2015-2019. He represented Ogbomoso North, South and Orire Federal Constituency.
Upon Makinde’s assumption of office as the Executive Governor of Oyo State in 2019, he appointed Ogunwuyi as the Executive Assistant on Investment and thereafter elevated him to the position of Director-General, Oyo State Investment and Public Private Partnership (OYSIPA) before his appointment again as the Chief of Staff to the Governor in June, 2021.
It was at OYSIPA that Hon Segun Ogunwuyi made his mark and won the heart of Governor Seyi Makinde. His first breakthrough was the resuscitation of the Moniya-Ijaiye Asphalt Quarry Plant which had become moribund. His agency became the gateway to economic prosperity for Oyo State. All road projects including some monumental infrastructures the Makinde led administration has embarked on, were awarded through OYSIPA. The list is endless.
In their goodwill messages the Government functionaries said “we are delighted to join your family, friends, well-wishers and fellow compatriots to celebrate you on the occasion of your birthday.
“First and foremost, we use this opportunity once again to thank our indefatigable leader, Governor Seyi Makinde for appointing us into his team. We are grateful sir.
“You (Ogunwuyi) have made significant contributions to the administration of our principal and model for good governance in Nigeria (Governor Seyi Makinde)to the Development of our dear State, occupying different leadership positions since 2019. We are not surprised judging by your political antecedents, you have demonstrated leadership and absolute loyalty to His Excellency.
“We acknowledge your purposeful leadership style, vision, courage and steadfastness in the pursuit of the right cause and common good since your appointment by His Excellency as his Chief of Staff.
“As we celebrate you on this special day, please accept our appreciation for your sustained cooperation and commitment towards His Excellency, we wish our strategic and amiable Chief of Staff many more prosperous years in good health and wisdom as he continues to serve our overall leader to the best of his ability.
