Suleiman Lateef Adediran, Seyi Makinde’s running mate in the 2015 governorship election, will be nominated to replace Abass Alesinloye as chairman of the Oyo State chapter of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria, ALGON.

This follows the sack of council chairmen elected by the Abiola Ajimobi administration and appointment of caretaker chairmen by Governor Seyi Makinde.

OYOINSIGHT.COM understands that Santana, as Adediran is fondly called, is the caretaker chairman of Irepo local government area of the state. He first had a shot at the office in 2007 when the administration of former governor Adebayo Alao-Akala appointed him caretaker chairman.

In 2015, in a bid to run with an ‘acceptable’ Muslim from among the 10 local government areas in Okeogun zone of the state, Makinde, who was governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, settled for him. They were however unsuccessful as the party came fifth position.

He is expected to steer the affairs of the association pending the time local government election would be conducted.
