While the people of Oyo State are guessing whether Hon. Dapo Lam-Adesina is still with the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, or not, OYO INSIGHT has obtaineda Kk picture of the 39-year old lawmaker with ex-Oyo House of Assembly lawmakers who visited former speaker Monsurat Sunmonu, who now represents Oyo Central senatorial district, in Abuja.

Seven ex-lawmakers/ Adekunle Tunji Rafiu (Saki West and former Minority Leader), Adetunji Fatai Salam (Iseyin/Itesiwaju and former Chairman parliamentary), Hammed Abiodun Adigun (Akinyele II and former chief whip), Olagunju Kolade (Akinyele 1), Adesope Azeez (Oorelope), Adegoke Thomas Abiodun (Kajola) and Ojo Samson Bamidele ( Ibadan South East ) had paid a solidarity visit to Sunmonu few hours after she defected to the newly formed African Democratic Congress, ADC.

Some lawmakers at the National Assembly had defected from the APC last week.

Sunmonu and four members of the House of Representatives- Sumbo Olugbemi (Oluyole), Abiodun Olasupo (Iseyin/Itesiwaju:Kajola/Iwajowa), Taiwo Akintola (Egbeda/Ona-Ara) and Sunday Adepoju (Ibarapa East / Iddo) were among the defectors.

The lawmakers, who were until now members of APC, have irreconcilable differences with Governor Abiola Ajimobi. The crisis became obvious during the last congress of the party, a development that factionalized the party. A breakaway faction of the party- Unity Forum comprises mostly supporters of late former governor Lam-Adesina, later defected to the ADC.

Lam-Adesina, OYO INSIGHT recalled, was one of those beaten by thugs during the last congress of the party.

Many had expected all Unity Forum lawmakers including Lam-Adesina, who represents Ibadan North East / South East federal constituency to have defected alongside Sunmonu and others. His name was, however, missing on the list.

With the action, many, especially those who defected to the ADC, are speculating about the next political moves of the youthful lawmaker.

Speaking with OYO INSIGHT, Lam-Adesina said: “Events in the coming weeks will show where I truly belong. There is no doubt about my that. My supporters will not be disappointed. Without them, there will be no me. I want to thank them for standing by me since the crisis started,” he added but without revealing his next plan.
