Amidst jubilation, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Oluyole local government area of Oyo State, last week as Hon. Tokunbo Ogunsola rejoined the party from the opposition All Progressives Congress, APC.
At a well-attended ceremony, Ogunsola, who aspired to represent Oluyole federal constituency in the 2019 election, was received by party leaders led by its secretary, Hon. Wasiu Adeleke and other state working committee of the party.
Adeleke, who commended Ogunsola for rejoining the party which he described as his home, presented the party’s symbolic flag to him.
He assured “party faithful that our party is united, strong and we are solidly behind Engineer Seyi Makinde. We also implore our members not to listen to dissidents’ voices who are working in tandem with the opposition to destabilize our party and the government,” he added.
But Ogunsola, while speaking with journalists after the event, explained that his rejoining the party is like an homecoming for him, “apart from the unprecedented achievements of Governor Seyi Makinde all sectors. I must say I am happy with the many things the governor has done since assuming office. He has changed the face of governance in many areas and I think it is better I join to support him to continue to take our state to an enviable height.”
Asked it he has rejoined the party because of his ambition, Ogunsola said “that though all human beings, especially politicians are not in politics for any other thing than to be elected for political offices or be selected for political appointments. But for me, I would say I have not decided. Everything is still in God’s hand. I am still watching the political terrain,” he added.
