Press Statement:  Calling A Truce

In the spirit of the June 12 season, I, Prince Kola Asatola Asanike, make a passionate plea and a call on all aggrieved members of our party, the All progressive Congress, APC; fathers, mothers, brothers, and sisters from Oke-Ogun, Ibadan-Ibarapa, Oyo and Ogbomoso zones in the state, to case the swords and embrace peace.

There is no sacrifice that is too much to offer for this democracy as a legacy for the coming generation. The principal protagonist of and the emblem of the June 12 struggle, Bashorun MKO Abiola, had demonstrated this by offering his blood to water the tree of this democracy. We cannot afford to fell down the tree else, we will flop our house.

I appeal to all the opposing factions to let us accept and forgive ourselves. There is no furnace that tempers till sunset; we only need to deploy patience. Our party, APC, is still the best option with the burning zeal for national revival. Won’t we be collectively be part of this imminent historic development?

Let us together, build a party of firm and genuine progressive ideology as a springboard of abundant social welfare for our teeming and indeed, all Nigerians. If we do not endure the itching of a skin disease, we may scratch the body to the bone.

May we never vacate our house to become tenants elsewhere. There is no sacrifice which may be too much to implement for revival. I thank you all.

Omo’ba Kola Asatola Asanike
