The Entire Christian Of Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic, Eruwa celebrated the 2022 Maiden Edition of Christmas Carol in grand style yesterday at the premises of the institution.
The program was graced by the Chairman, Governing Council, Prof. Abiodun Ojo, management of the institution led by the Ag. Rector, Dr. Gbade Akinteye, Chairman, Eruwa Elders Council, Chief Peluola, representative of Olori of New Eruwa, representative of Asaba of Isaba, pastors, ministers, staff, and students of the institution.
Evang. Dr. Biola Jesulowo declared the program open and expressed great joy at the opportunity given to him. He also used the avenue to pray for the Chairman, Governing Council for initiating the program. In his comments, he described him as a progressive leader and a man of positive impact.
Dr. Jesulowo presented the institution mass choir to everyone present at the program while Rev’d J.O. Kolawole prayed fervently for them and the institution in general. He further explained the program as coming together of followers of Jesus Christ.
The Chairman, Governing Council, Prof. Abiodun Ojo appreciated the Planning Committee, invited guests, management, staff, and students for coming together for the celebration of Jesus Christ. He also commended the part-time staff of the institution and he promised to intensify efforts in making sure that they continue to enjoy their service at Adeseun Ogundoyin Polytechnic Eruwa in due course.
Prof. Abiodun further commended the Students Union Caretaker Chairperson for her beautiful remarks and requests in the previous day which led to the quick action of the state government to fix the already collapsed fence of the institution in due time under special intervention from the Governor’s office as promised by his Excellency during his earlier visit to the campus.
Rev’d Dr. A.D. Ojedayo delivered a lecture on the theme of the program “Emmanuel.” Going further, he explained the overall purpose of the theme, ranging from the meaning of the name, the purpose, and work.
“Emmanuel is Jesus Christ, the person that came in the image of God to save me and you. He is an extraordinary and wonderful One, the Light of the world. He is the real door by which one can enter to eternity. He is the Alpha and Omega,” he explained.
Addressing the congregation at the program, the Ag. Rector, Dr. Gbade Akinteye, appreciated the Governing Council for initiating the program. He also commended the community leaders at the program for their undying love for community development and passion for the institution.
“I want to welcome all of us to this program because we are celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. I specially appreciate our fathers here for honoring our invitation out of their busy schedule. It is important to appreciate the fact that we have seen a new door. The government has given us the man we need at this period in our institution. It is exactly a month today that the new Council Chairman was inaugurated by the Governor of Oyo State and we have been seeing new things since then.
“Yesterday, we commissioned a project here and that would be the first time that a sitting Governor will commission a project in this institution. It shows that our Council Chairman is a man of purpose. Also, this is the first time all Christians in the campus will be coming together without sentiment,” he said.
Rev’d J.O. Kolawole prayed for the Governing Council, management, staff, and students of the institution. He asked God to give everyone at the program solomonic wisdom to excel in their various endeavours.
While rounding off the program, the Governing Council Chairman, Prof Abiodun Ojo took a moment to personally appreciate Gov. Makinde for giving him the opportunity to serve in the capacity and commended his unfliching support for policies and decisions that are geared towards the progress of the institution. He further expressed his zeal to promote unity and foster love in the institution. He thus announced that there will be Ramadan Lecture in the institution during Ramadan period the following year.
