Eight Months After The Death Of 344-year-old Alagba, Soun Gets New Tortoise

Eight months after the death of his 344-year-old tortoise, the Soun of Ogbomosho, Oba Jimoh Oladunni Oyewumi, has gotten a new tortoise.

OYOINSIGHT.COM recalls that the 344-year old late tortoise named Alagba died on the 3rd of October 2019.

Alagba, until its death, had lived in the Palace of the Soun since the 17th century when it was brought to the palace by the third Soun of Ogbomosho, Oba Ikumoyede Ajao.

The dead body of Alagba is still in the palace, where it is expected to be for the next 100 years and preserved by the museum of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.
