Men of the Department of State Security, DSS, allegedly stormed the studio of popular Ibadan-based Yoruba broadcaster, Oriyomi Hamzat yesterday.
In the process, OYO INSIGHT was informed by a source who craved anonymity, those met inside the studio, together with all movable items in the studio were taken away.
Though the reason why the securitymen clamped down on his studio and staff could not be ascertained as at the time of filing this story, 37-old broadcaster has been considered has ‘too critical’ of the administration of Governor Abiola Ajimobi.
Oriyomi, who is billed to arrived Nigeria this morning, will report at the DSS, Ibadan office with his lawyer today.
Only last year, Oriyomi was banned by the Nigeria Broadcasting Commission, NBC, for alleged professional breach. However, Oriyomi has challenged the ban in court.
