Don’t Disrespect Olubadan’s Authority — Ibadan Mogajis Warn Indigenes, Residents

In view of the circumstances surrounding the conferment of the title of Babaloja-General to Chief Yekeen Abasss popularly known as Y.K Abass by the Olubadan and endorsed by Governor of Oyo state, Engr Seyi Makinde.

A statement by Mogaji AbdulJelyl Adanla, who is coordinator of family heads, stated that nobody should disrespect the authority of the revered royal father.

It would be recalled that some people, claiming to be part of the market union, are said to be using the opportunity to create disharmony in the market union in order to seek relevance of the commissioner of trade and Makinde.

According to him, “We hereby warn whoever this is to please respect the decision of the Olubadan as his action is now been seen as challenging the authority of our Royal father and the entire peace loving people of Ibadanland will not take this as a joke, we advise you live with us in peace as we all know you can not challenge the authority of the king of your town somewhere in Osun state.

“As you can see, Ibadanland is home to a lot of peace loving people who are doing well and also making us proud.

“His Imperial Majesty, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, is the only authority in Ibadanland and this is the will of God. Any attempt by anyone or any group of people to challenge his authority will not be tolerated by us and we will take all legal action to bring the person or group to book. The fact that our first class monarch is a very gentleman and good father does not allow anyone to take him and his chiefs for a ride.“
