COVID-19: Sunmonu Donates Solar-Powered Gadgets To Primary Health Centres

As part of her concerted efforts toward combating the coronavirus pandemic, Senator Monsurat Sunmonu has provided solar powered systems to 45 primary health centres in the State.

The solar-powered devices which were facilitated through the Monsurat Olajumoke Sunmonu World Empowerment Foundation (MOSWEF) in conjunction with Lumos Nigeria is said to further support the strides of Governor Seyi Makinde in the health sector.

In his remarks, the Director MOSWEF, Mr. Ahmed  Ajayi said the gesture to equip the primary health centres across the 33 local government areas with the appliances was to ameliorate and ease a series difficulties by the incessant electric power outage in the basic healthcare deliveries.

According to him, we know the critical roles the primary health centres play and the impact the electricity has on personnel and patients towards an overall better medical experiences. And we considered it imperative to partner with Lumos to provide this support to Oyo State Government.

Mrs. Adepeju Adebajo, the Chief Executive Officer, Lumos Nigeria stressed that Lumos as one of the Africa’s leading providers of high quality solar home systems as its Corporate Social Responsibility, CSR and as occasioned by the ongoing fight against the COVID-19 scourge found it worthy to collaborate with MOSWEF to enable Oyo State Primary Health Centres with the solar powered systems.

He emphasized that the donated solar powered devices were capable of powering many basic home appliances such as fans, television and radio sets, vaccine fridges, desk and laptops computer systems so as to make the service delivery enjoyable mostly now the sector is faced with the herculean tasks.

One of the Heads of the health centres which benefited from the effort, Dr. Famakin commended the facilitators for the timely discharge of the modern implements in supporting the ruling administration towards ensuring qualitative medical cares to all and sundry in the State.
