COVID-19: Oyo State Receives Medical Items From Chinese Billionaire, Jack Ma

Oyo State has received medical items which include Face masks, Shields, and Coverall gowns from the Jack Ma Foundation to strengthen its fight against coronavirus.
This was disclosed in a statement on the official Twitter account of the Nigeria Center For Disease Control (NCDC) on Thursday morning.
“We’re grateful for the support from @foundation_ma in strengthening Nigeria’s response to #COVID19.
“The supplies received have been distributed to states accordingly, with priority given to states with the highest number of cases at the time of distribution.” The statement read.
The NCDC added that it received 100,000 face masks, 9,999 overall gowns, 20,000 regents for testing, and 913 face shields from the foundation owned by Chinese billionaire Jack Ma.

In a graphical illustration to show how the supplies were distributed, the agency disclosed that Oyo State received 1912 face masks, 291 coverall gowns, and 26 face shields.
The donation is part of the medical items which include 5.4 million face masks, 1.08 million testing kits, 40,000 sets of protective clothing and 60,000 protective face shields distributed by the founder of China’s e-commerce giant Alibaba to African countries in need of supplies to battle the spread of COVID-19.
At the time of writing this report, the total number of confirmed cases by the NCDC in the country is now 174 with two deaths.
The index case in Oyo – the pacesetter State stands at Eight.
