Wife of Oyo State Governor, Mrs. Tamunomini Makinde has donated cash gifts, raw food items and coronavirus preventive tools to four special homes in the State.
The donation was made on Wednesday to support the efforts of the management in the running of the institutions with adequate materials against the austerity necessitated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Mrs. Makinde represented by Mrs. Christianah Abioye, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women Affairs, said the development was aimed at identifying with and giving hopes to the children with special needs.
She commended the managements and caregivers for the hectic tasks they contend with on a daily towards correcting and inculcating values in the pupils with various critical physical and mental challenges.
Presenting the gifted sum of #50,000, 4 bags of rice, hand wash facilities and sanitizers each to the principal officers of the benefitted homes, Mrs. Abioye admonished them to judiciously utilize the items for the good of the children.
The schools which were graciously supported by the first lady’s gesture are Child Care Unit, Ijokodo, Juvenile Correctional Institution, Ijokodo, Rehabilitation center for Disabled, Moniya and Nigerian Training Center for the Blind Persons, Ogbomosho.
