COVID-19: Lalupon-born Investment Banker Supports Kinsmen With Food Items, Cash Gifts

As part of efforts to support families in his hometown of Lalupon, an American-based investment banker, Mr. Abiola Okeyode, has donated food items and cash gifts to his kinsmen.

The gesture, he said, become necessary following the lockdown occasioned by the pandemic virus, COVID-19, which is threatening the world.

Lalupon, OYOINSIGHT.COM understands, is one of the towns in Lagelu local government area of the state.

Okeyode, who was born in the town, said he decided to start from his immediate constituency because of the impact the restrictions on economic and human activities by government has caused.

At the event which took place at Ile-Baale Lalupon, food items which included rice, beans and cash gifts were distributed to people.

Okeyode, who was represented at the event, said he decided to come up with the initiative not because he is financially okay but due to the fact that people need to be supported.

“Even before COVID-19 issue, our people weren’t finding it easy financially. You can understand what this lockdown would have caused them. So I think we don’t have to wait till we get the whole billions in this world before we can show love. I will only implore those who are in my shoes to come to the aid of our people,” he said.
