The house of representatives member representing Ibarapa North/Central Federal Constituency, Honourable Ajibola Muraina, has announced that the Executive President of the country, Muhammadu Buhari must fund Oyo state in the fight against coronavirus.

The federal legislator disclosed this while responding to questions on Fresh FM COVID-19 situation room programme monitored earlier today by OYOINSIGHT.COM.

“I respect the selective lockdown of Lagos, Abuja, and Ogun… Apparently, I believe based on the peculiar facts and circumstances between his knowledge which of course he is not bound to disclose to us.

“However, with a deep sense of respect to Mr. President, I believe having funded Ogun which at the time of his broadcast was number four, the President should also have funded Oyo state which at the time of the broadcast was number three,” he said.

He stressed further that the President being the leader of the entire country must provide for all and carry everyone along because we are all Nigerians and this is not a matter of politics but a matter of life and death.

He also noted that out of the very scarce and limited resources in Oyo state, the governor has equipped the University College Hospital, UCH as a test center that has been accredited by the Nigeria Centre For Disease Control, NCDC.

“We believe the money we have spent (in Oyo state) should also be immediately refunded so that we can apply these funds to some other areas,” he added.

He then disclosed that the matter relating to the funding of Oyo state is very dear him and as a result of this, he and other federal legislators of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo state have co-signed a letter of complaint on this issue.
