Founder of Bolanle Sarumi-Aliyu Foundation, Bolanle Sarumi-Aliyu has disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari did not lock down the State for political reasons.
Sarumi, who is now a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, disclosed this during an interview on Ibadan-based radio station, Splash FM, on Saturday morning.
According to her, ” They(Buhari) did it politically, they ignored Oyo state so that they don’t have to give us any funds to support us (Oyo state)”.
The first female gubernatorial aspirant in the State also praised Governor Seyi Makinde for his sterling leadership qualities and the way he is leading the fight against coronavirus.
When confronted about whether her opinion is a conspiracy theory, she said, ” that is what I think happened”.
She stressed further that the governor has already put in place measures to ensure anyone that shows symptoms of the virus can come to the isolation center and be treated.
She added that other governors can’t meet up with the measures that the Oyo state governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde has put in place to prevent the spread of a virus that has killed thousands globally.
She then urged the people of the state to take precautions to prevent the spread of coronavirus because it truly exists.
At the time of writing this report, the total number of confirmed cases by the NCDC in the country is now 210 with four deaths.
The index case in Oyo – the pacesetter State is now Eight.
