Founder of Bolanle Sarumi-Aliyu Foundation, BASA, Mrs. Bolanle Sarumi-Aliyu as sent her best wishes to Governor Seyi Makinde as he tested positive to coronavirus.
Makinde, OYOINSIGHT.COM reported, had went into self isolation few days ago following advise from the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC.
He announced this evening that he has tested positive to the virus when the result came.
The 41-year old Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, member, in a statement made available to this newspaper, reads “On behalf of the good people of this state who value him, our prayers are with him. I’ve taken the governor as a political father, a leader and a role model whom I’m learning leadership skills from. Upon hearing this evening news, I wish to implore the people of Oyo State to please include the governor, his wife and the children in our prayers.
“I can’t imagine what the governor and his family might be going through at this trying times. We should also pray that this terrible virus leaves our state and Nigeria. To those reading this please let’s stay at home and practice high hygiene standards and to those of us who can afford to share foodstuffs to the less privileged please let’s do so,” she said.
This is just as she called on the people of the state to fast and pray next Wednesday to ward off the rampaging virus.
“Lets keep April 1st, 2020, as a day to pray for the Governor to get better and all those around him to be free from the virus. We should pray in our various homes and adhere to the guidelines on coronavirus,” she added.
