Minutes after News filtered in that Governor Seyi Makinde had tested positive for coronavirus, three term member of the Nigerian senate, Sen. Teslim Folarin, has placed a call to him to wish him quick recovery.
Folarin, OYOINSIGHT.COM understands, represents Oyo Central Senatorial District at the red chambers.
“I just received news that Gov Seyi Makinde has tested positive for Covid-19. Our prayers to Allah is to grant him speedy recovery and protect his family in these trying times,” Folarin, who is a senior Ibadan chief tweeted.
OYOINSIGHT.COM learn that apart from the fact both politicians both hail from Ibadan, they were, until 2015, in the same Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
OYOINSIGHT.COM had earlier reported how the Governor announced that he has tested positive to coronavirus through a tweet on his official Twitter account.
The governor’s tweet read, “I just received my COVID-19 confirmation test result. It is positive. I am asymptomatic and will continue to self-isolate.
“I have designated Prof Temitope Alonge, former Chief Medical Director of the University College, Ibadan, as the Head of COVID-19 Task Force while I recover fully. Please continue to comply with all the directives from the COVID-19 Task Force. Stay home, stay safe.”
