Hiphop musician, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido hasannounced that his finance Chioma has tested positive for coronavirus while he is negative.
Davido made the announcement in a statement on his official Instagram account on Friday night moments after the NCDC confirmed that the number of cases in the country is now 70.
In the post, he wrote, “I came back recently from America aftercanceling tour. My fiancé Chioma also came back from London recently with our baby. We had no symptoms and still both feelperfectly fine but because of our recent travel history, we decided totake ourselves and our all close associates we’ve come in recentcontact with for the COVID-19 test on the 25th of March.Unfortunately, my fiancé’s results came back positive while all 31others tested have come back negative including our baby“.
He added that his wife is now being quarantined while he goes into full self-isolation for the next 14 days.
However, the implication this has for the people of Oyo State is yet to be known. OYOINSIGHT.COM had earlier reported Davido disregarded the guidelines to prevent the spread of coronavirus of the country by the Nigeria Centre For Disease Control when he visited Oyo State a few days after returning from the United States – one of the worst-hit countries by coronavirus.
During the visit, Davido performed at three events attended by a large set of people. He also visited here Governor Seyi Makinde.
Davido urged everyone to stay at home to prevent the spread of the virus. He added that he and his finance are “doing perfectly fine andshe is even still yet to show any symptoms whatsoever“.
