Ex-Oyo commissioner for finance and budget, Bimbo Adekanmbi Initiative, BAI, which has been distributing thousands of sanitizers and engaging people on safety tips to ward off coronavirus yesterday moved to Oyo town to continue educating people on the causes, effect and prevention of the virus.
OYOINSIGHT.COM had reported how BAI, since last Sunday, has started distribution of sanitizers within Ibadan, the state capital. With the Oyo exercise, it brings the total number of distributed sanitizers to 12,000 pieces.
The team toured major markets in Oyo town to sensitise and distribute hand sanitizers to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
At Owode and Akesan markets, the team spoke about symptoms, and negative effect of raising fake news for public consumption.”
BAI, in a statement, admonished the market men and women to be cautious and apply necessary preventive measures including regular washing of hands with soap and water or use of alcohol containing sanitizers.
It added other measures as avoiding touching the eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands; covering the nose and mouth with napkin, handkerchief or nose mask while coughing or sneezing and; keeping at least 5 feet distance from anyone.
It also advised anyone with symptoms of continuous coughing and sneezing to report to the nearest health facility for medical attention, especially if such is accompanied by mild fever.
