The campaign coast of Dr. Wasiu Adewale Olatubosun and Mrs. Tolani Adigun, the candidates of the African Democratic Congress, ADC for Ibadan North West / South West federal constituency and Ibadan South West state constituency II in the next general elections got enlarged as Ibadan And Areas Carpenters Association endorsed their candidacies.
The endorsement was made on Friday on the courtesy call of the both standard bearers on the Ibadan South West local government zonal heads of the body at its end of the year meeting which was held at Oluko Osi Hall, Isale Osi, Ibadan.
Welcoming the campaign trail which was comprised of various representatives of pressure groups to the meeting, Mr. Musibaudeen Oyewopo on behalf of his professional colleagues expressed their gratitude to Dr. Olatubosun for his unwavering support to the cause of artisans in the state.
He stressed that the meeting was imperative to examine their respective preparedness and visions for the different category of constituents in their domain ahead of the polls against the traditional use and dump tactics by different political office holders having confirmed Sen. Olufemi Lanlehin as a promise keeper.
Dr. Olatubosun, in his remarks lauded the hierarchy of the carpenters for the privilege afforded him to highlight his track records in the public administrations and the working plans if elected to its zonal executive officers at the congregation.
He assured the group which had in attendance the Oyo State Baale of Carpenters, Chief Alimi Oladele and his chiefs of a strict people-oriented representation with accordance of appropriate attentions with facilitation of physical infrastructures, socio-economic empowerments and other lofty ameliorating programs.
He therefore prayed the zonal heads from Oja’ba, Gege, Bode, Foko, Oke-Ado, Alesinloye and others of the body to enthusiastically integrate their teeming members across the state to support the ongoing struggle to rescue Oyo State from the grip of the mindless enemy of progress.
He implored the gathering predominantly dominated by the youths and middle-aged men to hit the streets and propagate the message of salvation being touted by the ADC gubernatorial and other candidates in the coming elections.
Supporting the charge, an ace radio presenter, Alh. Oriyomi Hamzat charged the carpeting professionals to spiritedly root every neighborhood within their community to canvass votes for the party to effect expiration of the clueless reign of government in Oyo State.
In his closing remarks, the Chairman, Mr. Oyewopo therefore assured Olatubosun, Adigun and other candidates of ADC of the carpenters association unflinching support towards emergence of every candidate on the platform of the party in the next general elections.
At the meeting were state executive members of the carpenters’ association while ADC excos were led by the Ibadan South West local government, Hon. Gbenga Aluko and wards chairmen. Also present were Motors’dealers association representative, Mr. Babatunde Akela, Ogunpa Joint Traders Association, Mr. Surajudeen Popoola and others.
Meanwhile, the Oluyole Youths Movement has restated its backing to the candidature of Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun as member to represent Ibadan North West / South West federal constituency in the House of Representatives in the next general polls.
The President of the group, Mr. Deji Agunbiade made the reassurance on Friday when delivering his group mobilization reports at Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ press center, Iyaganku pavilion.
He declared that his team religious strives in initiating the appreciable number of inhabitants of Oluyole, Odo-Ona, Apata and other adjoining areas into the movement had reached a commendable height.
In his speech, Dr. Olatubosun profoundly thanked the leadership of the group for its passionate zeal in ensuring entrenchment of a purposeful representation which he is primarily out to pioneer for the upliftment of all and sundry in the constituency.
