Governor Seyi Makinde has announced the appointment of Prof. Sayed Hamzah Ayantunde Malik as the chairman of the Oyo State Pilgrimage Board (Muslim Wing) with immediate effect.
This, sources told OYO INSIGHT, became necessary following the disbandment of council chairmen as well as helmsmen of government agencies and parastatals last night.
Malik, who hails from Igboho, headquarters of Oorelope local government, is a professor of Arabic Studies at the University of Ibadan.
Oyo-born cleric, Alhaji Taofeeq Akewugbagold had held sway from the beginning of the administration of former governor Abiola Ajimobi till the end.
