National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, in Oyo State, under the aegis of branch chairmen and secretaries, have picked Alhaji Waheed Adeoyo as the next person to succeed the acting chairman, Alhaji Abideen Olajide Ejiogbe.
At a meeting of branch chairmen of motor park and secretaries in the state held at a popular hotel in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, Adeoyo said he is among the most qualified for the position having been driving and acquired his first driving license in 1977 and as a former branch chairman of Ibadan North East II Inter State branch.
He said if he later emerges the state chairman of the union in Oyo State, he is going to work in line with the directive of the governor-elect, Engr. Seyi Makinde and NURTW national headquarters led by Alhaji Najeem Yasin.
Adeoyo assured that the issue of thuggery and hooliganism will be a thing of the past in the union if he becomes the helmsman.
