Bobade, Emokhare Among 30 Recipients Of ACU’s Ph.Ds

Two top media personalities in Ibadan, Dr. Deji Bobade and Dr. Paul Emokhare were among the 30 individuals who bagged doctorate degree from the Ajayi Crowther University, ACU, Oyo for the 2022/2023 session.

While Bobade was spokesperson for the University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan, Emokhare is the station manager of the  University of Ibadan Campus Radio.

Recounting their experience while as communication students of the school, Emokhare while thanking God for his mercy for seeing him through appreciated every member of the University for impacting knowledge and given them an enabling environment to learn and go through the years of study. Extolling the good virtues of all the supervisors.

Earlier speaking about the institution’s development, ACU vice-chancellor, Prof. Timothy Adebayo, who said he was happy that the university is making steady progress in terms of the quantity and quality of its products.

He said 974 undergraduate students received award of Bachelors’ degrees during the convocation, with a further 594 postgraduate students and 30 PhDs to received their certificates on Thursday during the grand finale of the ceremonies.

In the breakdown he read in his address, Adebayo said 36 persons bagged first class in various academic disciplines, with 430 finishing in second class upper category, while 408 students finished in the second class lower division. He added that 100 persons bagged first degrees in third class division.

While congratulating the students, Adebayo urged them to note that the feat is the beginning in life.

He said, “Therefore, seek to improve yourself continually. Open your mind to new things and opportunities around you.”

On structural progress the university has made in the last one year, Adebayo said the blueprint of transformation, reformation and restoration are the three strands which had helped the school achieved great success within the period. He thanked the Board of Trustees and Governing Council for supporting the management aspiration to take the university to a higher pedestal.

He said that several building projects approved by the board and the council were completed within the period, among the 18 office professorial office complex, 960 seater Faculty of Humanities lecture building and ventures in agricultural business.
