Only few months ago, shortly after the senatorial primaries of the All Progressives Congress, APC, which he contested before stepping down, alongside others, for Sen. Teslim Folarin, he had been nominated commissioner in the Federal Character Commission, Abuja. The builder would later be nominated as RMAFC commissioner.

Kolade, a long time associate of Governor Abiola Ajimobi, contested and lost the Oyo federal constituency seat of the House of Representatives under the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party, ANPP, in 2007.

A statement issued by Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President (Media & Publicity), in Abuja on Friday said the president made the nomination in accordance with the provision of Section 154(1) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended).

It said the names were conveyed in a letter signed by the President to the Senate President, Abubakar Bukola Saraki, asking for expeditious consideration and confirmation of the appointments.
