Authentic Mogaji: Why Oyo Is Missing Adedibu, Lam-Adesina, Arisekola Politically

From the the authentic family heads in Ibadan land, otherwise known as authentic Mogajis of Ibadan came an appeal to the people of Oyo State to be calm and watchful for a responsible candidates among the numerous aspirants across political devides.

According to the Mogajis, they were worried that nothing good is happening politically since the demise of the trio of late Alhaji Lamidi Adedibu, former governor Lam-Adesina and Aare AbdulAzeez Arisekola.

 

Saying that they have begin to seek God’s direction over who succeeds incumbent Governor Abiola Ajimobi, they said they would communicate to the public through the media at an appropriate time.

 

A statement issued after a well attended meeting of the group held at Oja-Oba palace of Olubadan, Oja-Oba, Ibadan l and signed by the spokesperson of the group, Chief Wale Oladoja, regretted the high level of hunger in the land.

 

The executives of the group which include Chief Wale Oladoja (Mogaji Akinsola compound), Chief Abass Oloko (Mogaji Oloko), Chief Abduljelyl Karheem (Mogaji Adanla), Alhaji Moshud Gbolagade (Mogaji Akere), Alhaji Ademola Oladosu (Mogaji Olasomi) and other members, according to the statement, a copy of which was made available to Insight Oyo, won’t relent in advocating for good governance.

 

The statement reads in part: “We, members of the authentic Mogajis in Ibadan land sympatise and empatise with the entire people of Oyo State over the hardship and misgovernance in the state.

 

“In the history of Oyo state,  hunger, division  among Ibadan sons and daughters, and disrespect for lofty stool of Olubadan has never occur as it is today.

 

 

“It is shameful and regrettable that many young and old people in Ibadan land have turned to beggars on the street of Ibadan as a result of the poor policies of the government of the day.

 

“A state can only progress when salaries, wages,  and workers entitlement are paid promptly; when contracts are awarded to indigenes of the state and when people in government plays their roles without arrogance. However, the reverse is the case today.

 

“It saddens our hearts that nothing good is happening in our political terain after the demise of our political leaders and elders like Chief  Lamidi Adedibu, Alhaji Lam Adesina Aare Alao Arisekola and others.

 

“On this note,  we won’t fold our arms and allow a government to destroy the future of our unborn children in Oyo state. We want to appeal to our good people of Oyo State to remain calm and watchful for right candidate among the numerous aspirants parading themselves as mesiah of the state. We have began to seek for God’s guidance to chose a good leader for us in 2019,  we shall tell you where we are going as soon as God decides for us.”
