Condolence messages have started to be sent to the people of Iseyin as well as family of Oba Saliu Adetunji, Aseyin of Iseyin, who joined his ancestors sunday evening.
The Olugbon of Orile- Igbon, Oba Francis Olusola Alao and the Vice-Chairman, Oyo State Council of traditional rulers expressed shock over the transition of Aseyin of Iseyin.
The monarch, in a statement personally signed, stated, “The death of Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba Abdul Ganiyu Adekunle Salau got to me suddenly.”
“This is another great loss to the Oyo State Obas Council and Chiefs.
“He served his people wholeheartedly and was selfless. We all in the traditional council in Oyo State will miss him dearly.
“I pray God almighty comforts and consoles his family and the entire Oyo State.”
Meanwhile, the senator representing Oyo North, Dr. Buhari Abdulfatai has described the monarch’s death as colloidal.
He gave this description in a condolence message to the family of the departed monarch.
The lawmaker said “the death of Kabiesi Aseyin was a very torching and painful experience due to his uncommon traits in community development and nation-building”
According to him, the 15 years reigns of the prominent Yoruba Oba, Kabiesi Adekunle did not only witness development of Iseyin town but the entire Oke-Ogun.
“He was an Oba who loved his subjects and brought development to the ancient town, His wisdom and guidance for unique manner at which he uphold unity of Iseyin, Oke-Ogun and Oyo State will be missed” Senator Buhari hinted.
“Kabiesi Adekunle died as an achiever and he will surely be remembered for the unforgettable roles towards the building of not only his subjects but the generality of humanity across the world,”
The Legislator who is currently out of the country on official assignment condoled with the immediate family of Oba Adekunle; the wives, children and siblings as well as the entire people of Iseyin also prayed onto God to give them fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
Senator Buhari prayed for the soul of Oba Adeyemi to rest in peace and that God shall forgive all his shortcomings grant onto him Aljannat Firdaous on the day of accountability.
