The All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives hopeful for Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency, Hon. Adedeji Adesoji Michael (Iba Agba), has congratulated the Executive Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS), Dr Zacch Adedeji, on the occasion of his birthday, describing him as a reform-minded technocrat whose leadership has repositioned Nigeria’s tax administration.
In a congratulatory statement issued on his behalf, Iba Agba praised the NRS boss for providing strategic direction and stability at a critical time in the nation’s fiscal history, noting that tax administration reforms remain central to sustainable economic growth.
He stated that the ongoing reforms at NRS have significantly improved efficiency, transparency, and accountability in revenue collection, while also strengthening public trust in the tax system nationwide.
According to him, the restructuring of tax processes and the adoption of technology-driven solutions have reduced leakages and enhanced compliance, thereby supporting the government’s capacity to fund critical infrastructure and social services.
Iba Agba particularly commended the human-centred approach of the reforms, stressing that careful consideration for the lower cadre of society has distinguished the current tax administration from previous efforts.
He noted that policies aimed at easing the burden on low-income earners and small businesses demonstrate a clear understanding of the economic realities faced by ordinary Nigerians, especially in the current climate of reforms and adjustments.
The APC stalwart said that the people of Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency are proud of Dr Adedeji’s achievements, describing his leadership at NRS as a source of inspiration to young professionals and public servants.
He added that the reforms align with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which seeks to build a fair, inclusive and growth-oriented economy where no segment of society is left behind.
Iba Agba reaffirmed his support for the ongoing tax reforms, urging Nigerians to cooperate with NRS to deepen the gains already recorded and ensure long-term national development.
He stressed that a transparent and equitable tax system remains essential to strengthening governance, improving service delivery and reducing overdependence on debt financing.
