All Set For Lagelu FM Inter Secondary School Relay As Over 180 Schools Register

    No fewer than 180 schools in the south western part of the country have registered to participate in the 3rd edition of Lagelu FM Inter-Secondary School relay race scheduled hold in Ibadan.
    Mr Tunde Olawuwo, the General Manager Operations, Splash/Lagelu FM made the disclosure today at the media centre of Obafemi Awolowo stadium, Liberty, Ibadan during press conference to herald the 3rd edition of the race in IIbadan.
    Mr. Olawuwo said that the third edition of the event would feature races which included 100 metres, 4 by 100 metres, 4 by 200metres, 4 by 400 metres, mixed race and hopefully 4 by 100 hurdles.
    He appreciated Oyo State Government for being a principal sponsor of the tournament, saying the incumbent governor, Seyi Makinde had since inception of the race identified with its progress and equally appreciated other partners some of which are Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports, Kayrom Lee Gym and Fitness Centre, Sumal foods among others.
    Mr Olufemi Ajao, the South West Zonal Coordinator, Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports, said that his office had keyed into the event from inception, while commending the organisers on their achievements so far, He recounted how the race was birth, saying it has been very rewarding for the athletes, coaches and schools in general.
    Ajao described the initiative as the only way to move forward when it comes to sports development in Nigeria, adding that they have to replace the tired and ageing athletes.
    Also, one of the sponsors of the event, Amb. Romoke Ayinde, the Chief Executive Officer, Kayrom Lee Gym and Fitness Centre, said there was great improvement in the event and called on other stakeholders to support the initiative toward enhancing efforts at developing and nurturing the young talents to stardom.
