Alhaja Bose Adedibu, widow of the late strongman of Ibadan politics, Chief Lamidi Adedibu, has described the late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, as a great pillar of support since the death of her husband.
Adedibu described Oba Adeyemi’s death as “the fall of a pillar of support to her family” after the death of her husband, Adedibu.
Bose, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) South West Women Leader, stated this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday, while reacting to the death of Iku Baba Yeye, the late of Alaafin of Oyo in Ado-Ekiti.
She also described the death of Oba Adeyemi as a big blow to her and the household of the late Chief Lamidi Adedibu
“The entire household of the late Lamidi Adedibu is currently writhing in pains and sorrow, because of the sudden death of Oba Adeyemi.
“Late Alaafin of Oyo was until his last breath, a wonderful and awesome pillar of support to our family.
“Out of all those, who promised heaven on earth after the death of my husband; Oba Adeyemi was one of the very few people who proved to be a friend of the Adedibus after his death.

“When it comes to the real matter of ‘Soju ka seyin’ that is, taking care of the family left behind by a deceased, Oba Adeyemi was exceptional.
“He was a pillar and a shield,”Mrs Adedibu said.
She also said that late Oba Adeyemi was a shelter, who never waited for them, the Adedibus, to call for shelter, before spreading out his hands of supports for them.
Adedibu’s wife, therefore, prayed for the repose of the soul of the late Oba Adeyemi, praying the Almighty Allah, the beneficent and the merciful grant him mercy and forgive him all his sins.
She, however, appealed to all the family of Baba, my mothers, Iya Ile Koto, all Oloris, all the Princes and Princess, the Oyo Mesi and the entire Oyo Alaafin Empire to seek solace in the fact that Alaafin Adeyemi lived a beautiful and evergreen memorial life.
She said, “we, the Adedibu’s family of the great Antigisi clan of Oyo Alaafin are in this together. We have lost an irreplaceable soul. We have lost a father. We have lost an enigma. Only God can console us all.
“Yoruba race lost an enigma. Aljaena firidus for his soul.”
NAN recalled that Alhaji Lamidi Adedibu died in Ibadan on June 11, 2008 at the age of 80. (NAN)
