Yesterday, the new Okere of Saki, Oba Khalid Adebisi visited the Alaafin of Oyo and permanent Chairman of the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs, Ikubaba yeye Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi, in his Palace.

During the visit, the Okere thanked the King for his support.

He said, the first time I visited Alaafin several years ago, Alaafin cited examples of people who have betrayed the trust he had in them in the past but I told him my case would be different.

He added, “when I visited Alaafin in 2013, he told me I’ll become king. When I met him at the home of the now late Arisekola Alao he told me again that I’ll become King. Today several years after, the words of Alaafin has come to pass.

“The Alaafin is our source, we are here today not to celebrate but to receive royal blessings on his to lead our people.

We are here today so that anywhere ee go they will know we are children of the Alaafin of Oyo,” he said.

The chartered surveyor turned King added that he can’t betray Alaafin because he is his father and Oyo is his home. Remember OYOINSIGHT.COM had earlier reported the biological ties that existed between the two Kings.

He also thanked the Oyomesi and the good people of Oyo for their support at all times.

In his reply,  the chairman of Oyomesi who spoke in the name of the Queens, Prince, and Princess, and the entire Oyo Empire welcomed the new traditional head of Saki to Oyo and congratulated him on his new office, wishing him a long and successful reign.

They added that the Oyomesi have seen in the words and actions of the new King that he is truly deserving of the position.”

In his short remark, the Alaafin advised the Okere to thread carefully, explaining that, “From time immemorial, I have not attended any event I am not invited to, I go to only places I am invited.

He then congratulated him and wished him journey mercies as he return back to Saki.
