The deputy national chairman (South), Elder Yemi Akinwomi, has disclosed that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is rebranded and there is no room for impunity and imposition.
Akinwomi, who spoke when members of the National Working Committee of the party visited the state, congratulated members of the party for the victory recorded in Ibarapa by-election, pointing out that Nigerians have rejected APC.
A party chieftain, Dr Saka Balogun, also used the occasion to counsel the national secretariat of the party to follow the path of courage and fairness in order to be victorious in next year’s general election in the state.
Balogun, who was speaking on behalf of majority of party leaders in the state which included 21 of the 27 newly sworn in Executive members including the state chairman and secretary, 24 of the 33 party’s local government chairmen and stakeholders such as Senators Ayo Adeseun, Hosea Agboola, Hon Mulikat Adeola-Akande, Engr Seyi Makinde and Chief Jacob Adetoro, Elder Wole Oyelese and Alhaja Bose Adedibu among others, said this at a meeting.
According to him, there is a difference between a party leader and the party executive and any leader who arrogated unto himself the powers of the executive and the majority of stakeholders has himself to blame if he is isolated.
The harmonisation and swearing in of state executive members which was done at the National secretariat remain sacrosanct and nobody should be intimidated.
The National secretary of the party, Senator Ibrahim Umaru Tsauri led the delegation which included Col Austin Akobundu, Senator Ibrahim Kazaure, Barrister Emmanuel Enoidem, Elder Yemi Akinwonmi and others.
