At the which ceremony attended by major stakeholders of the party held at the Banquet hall, Premier hotel, Mokola, Ibadan, the party’s governorship candidate, Engr Seyi Makinde unveiled his manifesto which he tagged “Oyo state roadmap for accelerated development 2019-2023”.

According to Akinjide, “the task ahead is very enormous, thereby every stakeholders and party members to work together. The people of the state have tried two husbands; PDP and APC and have known the best for them, they have given the ruling party a divorce letter. So, it’s left for us as a party to either win the state or lose the election. As a party, we hold the rod to either win the election or not. The election is ours to win or otherwise.

“I want to charge our candidate to work and embrace other aspirants who contested the primary with him. The people of the state are eagerly waiting for PDP to form the next government, so let’s ensure that we work to win.”

On the choice of the deputy governorship candidate, Akinjide commended the choice of Raufu Olaniyan who he said is a seasoned professional, “an engineer like Makinde, I am sure that the duo are capable of turning this state to enviable status within four years of their administration.

“Let us join hands to enthrone Seyi Makinde as the next governor of Oyo state. It’s not about Makinde alone, let us know it is about PDP, and we are all PDP members. And finally, the governorship candidate, Makinde should also know that the house should be one house to ensure success for the party in 2019 elections.”

Akinjide’s message however set the ball rolling for other speakers who toe her line in advising all stakeholders to work together for the party.

Dr Saka Balogun however charged supporters that “the gubernatorial candidate cannot do it alone. You need the inputs of the poorest of the poorest in terms of everybody coming together until that success is attained,” warning that nobody should “personalised Seyi Makinde”.

Other speakers include Elder Wole Oyelese, Chief Sunday Ogunlade, Alhaja Bose Adedibu among others.

Other party leaders who attended the occasion include;  Chief Jacob Adetoro, Mr Dare Adeleke, Dr Kola Balogun, wife of the party’s flagbearer.
