The senator representing Oyo Central senatorial district in the Senate, Sen. Teslim Folarin, over the weekend visited Oyo town to commiserate with the Alaafin, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi and victims of January 5, 2019 inferno that ravaged Akesan market.
Folarin, who cut short his trip to London because of the inferno, promised the victims of his support and government’s assistance.
This was after he had told Alaafin that he would assist victims of inferno with cash and other empowerment materials.
The three-term lawmaker who visited the victims of Akesan Market to show his heartfelt solidarity, also promised to use his connection to get the attention of the federal government to provide succor for them.
Folarin, it would be recalled, had in the wake of the inferno, disclosed that he had already notified officials of the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Resources and Disaster Management of this incident, adding that he would ensure that the Federal Government provides adequate relief and support items to those who have lost their livelihoods, properties and wares to the inferno.
