Governor Abiola Ajimobi has disclosed that the contractor handling the Baptist Grammar School Model School project had been disengaged in the furtherance of the determination of his administration to complete the project before his May 29 handing over.
He made the disclosure addressing a stakeholders’ meeting of traditional rulers, students, community leaders and ethnic groups at Saki township hall during the All Progressives Congress campaign, in Saki, on Thursday.
Ajimobi said, “I’m saddened that the contractor handling the building of the Model School in Baptist Grammar School, Saki, has not lived to expectation. The contractor has been disengaged as part of measures to ensure that we complete the project.
“We have two of the model schools located in Ibadan. Saki was strategically picked for the third one and it is because of the delay in its completion that we disengaged the contractor.
“The state ministry of works has been mandated to complete the construction, which is in 42 per cent completion stage. I want to assure you again that this model school project will be completed before my administration leaves.
