Idris Ajimobi, house of assembly candidate for Ibadan Southwest II state constituency under the platform of All Progressives Congress APC, has denied rumours circulating on social media that he has denounced his membership of the party and gone to Accord.
The youthful politician, whose father was the immediate past governor of Oyo State, made this known while addressing pressmen at his Ibadan residence Friday afternoon.
According to him, “I still remain in APC and I urge true Ajimobi supporters to do the same. My father was also part of the founding fathers of this great party in Oyo state and so therefore I align with the progressive ideals of my father. Remember before the death of my lovely father, he was the Acting National Chairman of All Progressive Congress APC and he has worked so tirelessly for the party, we can’t just let all he has worked for be in vain
“I’m staying in APC to rebuild and consolidate on the legacies of my father and also uphold his progressive beliefs. As the flagbearer of our great party in the just concluded Ibadan Southwest Constituency II State house of Assembly Elections, I state clearly today that I’m committed to the party.
“So whoever believes in my father dynasty and also believes in me, I urged you all to remain truthful and faithful to the party. This is our home we don’t have any other place to call a home.
“I urged our leaders from the national level to come to the rescue of Oyo APC from collapsing and I plead with all aggrieved members of the party to come together and solve there differences for the betterment, progress and prosperity of the party,” he said.
