The Alaafin of Oyo Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi 111 yesterday suggested to President Muhammadu Buhari that outgoing governor Abiola Ajimobi would be a good senate president.
OYO INSIGHT recalled that Ajimobi, who represented Oyo South senatorial district between 2003 and 2007, is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in next month National Assembly election.
Oba Adeyemi spoke when he led other Obas which included the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji and Soun of Ogbomosho, Oba Jimoh Oyewumi to an interactive session with Buhari, who was in Ibadan, the State capital, to campaign for re-election.
According to the monarch, “Mr President, I recognise some of our wonderful governors in our midst. Let me tell you that Ajimobi has done very well in Oyo State.
“He has returned Oyo from a garrison to a peaceful state. He has transformed the state and built solid infrastructure.
“Mr President, I suggest you work closely with Ajimobi toward achieving the Nigeria of our dream. He can also be your Senate President,” he said.
