Akeem Agbaje, governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has said that late Oba Jimoh Oyewumi, Soun of Ogbomosoland, would be sorely missed for his developmental efforts.
The former chairman of the Ibadan branch of the Nigeria Bar Association, NBA, who made this disclosure in his condolence message to the family and people of Ogbomosoland, said the monarch died when his wealth of experience was needed most.
He, however, added that “Till he breathed his last, he was a man of peace and without controversy. He was one monarch everyone was willing to relate with.
”Not only Ogbomosos, all of us are going to miss the late reverred monarch. This was someone who left Jos, where he was doing well in business, to come become King. This was someone who, despite not going beyond primary school, was committed to education. The 48 years the monarch reigned was developmental and people can testify to that.
”I offer my condolence to the family and the people of Ogbomoso. I pray Allah grant him Aljannah firdaus and choose another wonderful Soun for the ancient town,” the lawyer added.
