Agbaje, Agbeni, Ayeye Lock Down As Olatubosun Takes Campaign To Streets, Wards

Commercial and vehicular activities of ever busy popular Agbaje, Agbeni, Ayeye and adjoining markets on Monday were paralyzed for several hours as the campaign trail of the African Democratic Congress, ADC for Ibadan North West / South West federal constituency, Dr. Wasiu Adewale Olatubosun hit major streets of Ibadan.  

The movement which is in furtherance of the religious contact and mobilization of the grassroots inhabitants, professional and pressure groups in preparation for the next month general elections.

The political crusade which inadvertently turned a carnival took off in ward 1 where Olatubosun was heralded into Lajumoke compound with celebrations and fanfares by the teeming euphoric residents and area boys from various junctions.

Mr. Kamoru Oladejo, the chairman, ADC ward 1 congratulated the crowd who thronged the venue for identifying with a virtuous personage in Dr. Olatubosun in antecedent mostly for the ongoing electoral struggles in the state. 

In his remarks, Olatubosun thanked the good of people of Ibadan North West local government for their support and steadfastness even out of office despite continuing harassment and intimidation from the ruling party.  

He maintained that his aspiration to represent the constituency in the national assembly is to compliment his series of developmental imprints across 11 wards of the council area. 

He urged the members of ADC and the people of ward 1 to heighten their spirited efforts towards ensuring massive votes across the polling. 

The former chairman of the council area therefore assured the people of the council area of many more laudable and ameliorating projects in human and infrastructural development if elected as next representative of the constituency for the next national assembly. 

Mrs. Shakirat Babatunde, the chairperson of the party, ward 2, in her address assured Dr. Olatubosun of unalloyed support of the members and readiness of many residents of the area to work for the success of the party in the next month race. 

It was an exhilarated scene at Idi Ikan, Ayeye, Oritamerin, Agbaje and Agbeni as teeming traders trooped out in jubilations to express their acceptance for the candidacy of Olatubosun who enjoyed cheers from many passengers in vehicular transits. 

The electrified atmosphere became more enlivened as school children within defied their teachers by thronging out to sing praise Olatubosun in solidarity for his victory. 

Addressing the gathering predominantly dominated by traders drawn from various markets within, Olatubosun thanked them for the undying love and support towards his chairmanship while it lasted in Onireke. 

He promised to carry on with his traditional demand driven approach in facilitating infrastructural and social empowerment projects across the nooks and crannies and for appropriate set of people. 

He assured the traders of huge interest free loans through a social empowerment scheme in boosting their capital base and nip in the bud the grievous credit thrifty means which have forced many out of trading. 

At ward 4, area boys at Agbeni have been charged to shun monetary enticements from drowning ruling party, Olatubosun admonished them when addressing the people of the area at Lagbeja compound. 

He implored them to flashback and recall his strives in giving a sense of belonging with the unprecedented vocational empowerment for the significant number of their members while helming the affairs of Ibadan North West local government council. 

Olatubosun tasked them to charge and commit their colleagues across all the polling units in the area to the cause of ADC ensuring success of all the ADC candidates into various elective posts in the coming general elections polls. 

The campaign trail had in its crew, Mr. Gbenga Aluko, Alhaji Rahamon Majekodunmi, the ADC local government chairmen Ibadan South West and North West local government areas respectively with many chieftains of the party across 23 wards of the federal constituency.
