• LG DAGS Summoned To Ibadan
Few hours after OYOINSIGHT.COM exclusively reported that Oyo East local government has resorted to publicly begging for money, tiles, paints and other items for the renovation of its secretariat, the Chairman of the local government, Olusola Oludokun, has backtracked on the development.
The Chairman, in a statement issued in on Monday afternoon noted that the ‘begging’ letter is an “unauthorised communication signed by the Director of Administration and General Services (DAGS)”, adding that it “was released without his knowledge and does not reflect the views or decisions of the East LG Council. This document misrepresents our intentions and priorities.”
He further announced that the DAGS who issued the letter has been summoned to Ibadan by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Local Government for clarification.
“We take this situation very seriously. Necessary actions will be taken against any staff found to be in violation of council protocols,” he stated.
Oluokun urged the public to disregard the letter’s requests for funding and material donations, asserting,”While we appreciate the concern for the Oyo East Local Government Secretariat, any legitimate efforts for its revitalisation will be handled through proper channels.”
