A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Engr. Idris Adeoye, has said the void created by the death of Prince Ajibola Afonja.
Afonja died last night at the age of 82.

His name was Prince Ajibola Afonja, a man whose contributions to Oyo town and Nigeria were immeasurable. Yesterday, the nation mourned the loss of a true statesman, a former Chairman of First Bank and a former Minister of Labour and Productivity.
“Prince Ajibola Afonja was a beacon of hope and progress, dedicated to the betterment of his beloved Oyo town and the entire nation. His journey of service began with his appointment as the Chairman of First Bank, where he revolutionized the banking sector and paved the way for economic growth. Under his leadership, First Bank became a pillar of stability, providing financial support and opportunities for individuals, businesses, and communities.
“Beyond his accomplishments in the corporate world, Prince Ajibola Afonja ventured into public service as the Minister of Labour and Productivity. With unwavering dedication, he tirelessly worked towards creating an enabling environment for both employers and employees.
