A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Oyo State, Hammed Adigun Murphy, has berated Ayo Adeseun, a former senator,  for attempting to destroy the party.

Murphy, who represented Akinyele constituency 2 between 2007 and 2015 in the Oyo State House of Assembly, was reacting to Adeseun’s comment that he and his group won’t allow Ajiboye Omodewu as chairman of the party in Oyo State.

Challenged Adeseun to provide his membership card of the APC if he has any, Murphy, in a chat with OYOINSIGHT.COM, said “It is unfortunate that Senator Adeseun wants to benefit where he didn’t sow. I am not surprised about his latest journey. That was how he did in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

“I know him very well and some of us will not watch and allow him destroy what we have laboured to win. I can recall how he joined us in 2011. We offered him our senatorial ticket on a platter of gold. We worked tirelessly to ensure he was elected despite him losing his local government. Not long after that victory, he started fighting our late former leader Abiola Ajimobi. He and others dumped the party in 2014 thinking we were going to lose but we triumphed while he and his co-travelers lost their re-election bids. Before then, he thought he was undefeatable not knowing that he was always joining popular parties.

“He, again, in the build up to the 2015 election, rejoined the PDP he attempted to destroyed in the past. Governor Seyi Makinde was smarter than him. He defeated him roundly. And why Makinde won and we were rebuilding our party, Adeseun was still in the PDP, challenging the governor, up to Supreme Court. It was when he saw that Makinde has become a hard nut for him to crack that he joined some rebels who worked within to destroy our party.

“Check all the persons Adeseun claims he is leading. They are people who teamed up against late former governor Abiola Ajimobi, to make sure APC lose Oyo State. They had the backing of a former governor who is also battling political relevance in his state now. That shows that what goes around comes around.

“After his failed attempt to demarket PDP, we know he won’t stop at anything to do same here but we won’t allow him. If he doesn’t stop all those uncouth comments, we will expose him. It is even a shame on those he claims to lead,” the former lawmaker added.
