A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State, Sina Alabi, has described the death of a member of the house of representatives, Musiliu Akinremi, as a hard pill to swallow.
Akinremi, who represented Ibadan North Federal constitutuency at the Green chamber, died after a brief illness in Abuja on Wednesday.
In a condolence message made a available to newsmen in Ibadan on Thursday morning, Alabi described the lawmaker as a selfless politician.
“As I write this, I am still struggling to come to terms with Jagaban’s death. He was an outstanding grassroots politician who never stayed far from his people.
“His death is not only shocking but also almost impossible to come to terms with. He will be missed by his family, friends, party associates, and supporters who immensely impacted,” he wrote.
He then prayed that the Almighty grant the late lawamker’s family the fortitude to bear the loss. “It’s a hard pill to swallow but we must accept it as the will of Allah,” he added.
