Omituntun 3.0: Olopoeyan Queries Adekanmbi’s Bid to Continue Makinde’s Agenda
A chieftain of the Allied People Movement (APM)in Oyo State, Alhaji Bisi Olopoeyan, has faulted the Omituntun 3.0 agenda associated with Governor Seyi Makinde and the party’s governorship candidate, Bimbo Adekanmbi, arguing that Adekanmbi cannot jump straight to the third phase without passing through the earlier stages.
Olopoeyan made the remarks during a conversation with popular broadcaster and Accord governorship candidate, Oriyomi Hamzat, where he used a primary school analogy to challenge the idea of presenting Adekanmbi as the face of the next phase of the Omituntun agenda.
He asked whether a child who had not attended Primary One could move directly to Primary Three and be expected to pass, insisting that such a pupil would first have to complete Primary One and Primary Two.
Applying the analogy to Oyo politics, Olopoeyan questioned why Adekanmbi would adopt the Omituntun 3.0 slogan when he had not previously served as governor.
He argued that the APM candidate could have chosen a different campaign slogan instead of presenting his ambition as a continuation of an agenda associated with Makinde’s administration.
“There is nothing like 3rd term,” Olopoeyan said, questioning the idea of moving directly to a third phase without passing through the preceding ones.
His comments add to the debate over the Omituntun 3.0 agenda and whether Adekanmbi’s candidacy represents continuity with Makinde’s administration or a new direction for Oyo State ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
